Dr. Poggioli is a licensed clinical psychologist who conducts psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments to help diagnose learning, executive functioning, and memory issues. Dr. Poggioli offers compassionate care and skill-building that enables clients to improve performance in school, at work, and in relationships.
Specialties
Dr. Poggioli specializes in the psychoeducational assessment of ADHD, executive function disorders, and learning disorders in children and adults. She also conducts giftedness evaluations, with an expertise in children and adults who are twice exceptional (e.g., giftedness and ADHD). Dr. Poggioli is also well-known for executive function skills training with students of all ages and corporate professionals to teach strategies to enhance focus, productivity, and organizational skills.
Dr. Poggioli has also led numerous groups and workshops for topics related to executive function. These include trainings for fellow providers relating to executive function disorders, workshops for parents to educate and facilitate carryover of executive function skills training to the home environment, and topics related to maximizing executive function skills for corporate professionals.
Experience & Training
Dr. Poggioli received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology and completed her internship in Clinical Neuropsychology from Eastern Virginia Medical School. Her graduate research was in the area of neuropsychology of obsessive-compulsive disorder and ADHD. She previously was a Research Scientist in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic and The Center for OCD and Related Disorders at Columbia University Medical Center/New York State Psychiatric Institute. There she was a lead therapist treating OCD with and helped to develop a treatment protocol for OCD integrating behavior therapy with motivational interviewing. While at Columbia, she also worked as a Project Director for a multisite genetic study of OCD. Dr. Poggioli also served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and has also worked in private practice settings before joining Elements Psychological Services. She is licensed in New Jersey and New York.
